Republic Polytechnic DAE O Level

Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE)

The Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) allows applicants whose qualifications are ineligible under Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) and Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) to apply for admission to our full-time diploma courses.

Admission is based on academic merit and subject to available vacancies of the diploma courses.

Who can apply?

All O-level holders may apply, except:

  • Students who have accepted the conditional offer of the Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) and met the admissions criteria of the polytechnic course after the release of their final results
  • Current RP students

Entry Requirements

You must fulfill the following requirements:

Aggregate Computation

  • Net ELR2B2 =
    English Language (EL) + 2 relevant subjects (R2) + 2 other best subjects (B2) – CCA# bonus points.

    #CCA cannot be used as one of your subjects to compute the score, but instead is deducted to obtain the Net ELR2B2 aggregate
  • Four types of aggregate scores: ELR2B2-A, ELR2B2-B, ELR2B2-C, and ELR2B2-D. Depending on the course you are applying for, you will need to meet the aggregate score that corresponds to the course. See here for the Net ELR2B2 Aggregate Range (NAR)
  • You are granted CCA bonus points if you obtain the following CCA grade:
    • Excellent (A1 to A2) = 2 points;
    • Good (B3 to C6) = 1 point
  • For more information on the O-Level subjects used for the computation of ELR2B2 aggregate scores, you can refer to the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) Information Booklet
