If you arrive at the airport and your bags exceed the amount you have pre-purchased, a higher per kilogram fee will be applied for every kilo exceeding your limit. The exact fee depends on your route/destination, but is around $15 per KG on domestic flights and $25 per KG on international flights.
Jetstar charges $45 AUD or NZD for domestic flights with up to the first 15 kg of checked baggage. Per calculation, a kg costs $3 AUD or NZD.
